Over the past half-century old, junior 6 Yogyakarta Muhammadiyah has a lot to contribute in the development of secondary education in Yogyakarta. Real gait and various achievements already many produced by SMP Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta sixth since its establishment in 1958. With the theme "Improving the quality of taqwa, science, or charitable pious devotion and sincerity in order to achieve 6 SMP Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, a prosperous and obtain blessings of God", the activities of the 53rd anniversary 6 SMP Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, aims to improve the quality and school performance in order to create generation of intelligent and pious to Allah SWT. This was disclosed by Widartono, S. Pd, Principal SMP Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta 6 Milad Committee representing the 6-53 SMP Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta on the sidelines of the recitation event at once grand building dedication Notoyudan Unit.
Pengajian Akbar submitted by Drs. Harwanto Dahlan, MA, attended by approximately 1000 people comprising local government, parents, and community leaders. In addition to teaching the great event, also held competitions among student activities and social events on the day before. It is expected that this activity can be the starting point for advancing the quality and the education quality in Yogyakarta Muhammadiyah 6 forward.
